Mauricio Pochettino has urged 'respect' as he discussed the future of Christian Eriksen.
Despite the transfer window shutting in England, clubs around Europe are still able to strengthen their sides, leaving Spurs in an uncomfortable position.
Eriksen has been attracting the attention of Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Juventus, meaning that a move away from north London could be on the cards before the end of the month.
Pochettino has given little away about the playmaker's future in recent weeks, but speaking to the press ahead the Man City clash, he hinted that he and the club deserved respect.
He said: "My point is to help and support all the players until they decide to take a different way in their career. And show respect to all.
"Sometimes it is difficult to understand outside of the club that respect means respect, if the player plays or does not play. One thing is my decision but that human relationship cannot be based on if you play or not play.

"The most important thing is to respect the person first, and then to take your professional decision. Your decision cannot affect your personal relationship."
Christian Eriksen was left out of the starting line-up for last week's victory over Aston Villa, but made the difference as Tottenham fought back from 1-0 down to take the victory.
Speaking about the chances of Eriksen starting against Man City, Pochettino said: "We will see. Only 11 players can start.
"I am happy last week how he did, his performance in training. contract situation make a difference to selection."
Asked if his contract situation will affect his decision over who starts, Pochettino added: "No. For me, it is the same if a player has a year or five years.
"The selection is not because of the length of the contract, it is about the performance. I will take the decision based on the performance, not the contract or personal situations."
