Former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has previously admitted he dreams of coaching Paris Saint-Germain.
The big surprise news on Christmas eve is that Thomas Tuchel has been sacked.
After more than two years at PSG where he won back-to-back Ligue 1 titles, the German tactician departs the French side who currently trail leaders Lyon by a single point.
And Pochettino has quickly been installed as one of the favourites to replace Tuchel at the Parc des Princes.
Out of work since leaving Spurs over a year ago, the Argentine remains a free agent and despite calls from some Arsenal fans to replace Mikel Arteta, Pochettino has previously said that he would never manage the Gunners because of his strong ties to Tottenham.
"I would never train Barcelona or Arsenal because I am tied to Tottenham. I grew up at Newell's and I would never train Rosario Central," he has previously said.
"This is my decision.
"I would prefer to work on my farm in Argentina than to go and work in certain places."
Such comments serve as a boost to PSG chief Leonardo.
Pochettino has already revealed that he would be open to managing PSG and his dream could be about to turn into a reality.
"I have always said that one day it would be a pleasure to manage a big club like Paris, a dream," Pochettino previously told RMC in 2016.
"I try to watch all of their games, especially in the Champions League and sometimes I speak with [former PSG assistant coach] Jean-Louis Gasset [now manages Bordeaux]."
"I watch a lot of live matches in the French league.
"The championship is not very attractive as PSG are a long way ahead of the other teams and I mostly look at the French league because it is a source of major players, players who would adapt well to playing in England."
