Mauricio Pochettino's son breaks social media silence following Spurs sacking

Mauricio Pochettino's son has broken his social media silence after Spurs sacked the Argentine coach and replaced him with Jose Mourinho.

Pochettino was removed by Spurs on Tuesday night, with Mourinho's appointment being announced early on Wednesday morning.

Mourinho took charge of his first game as Tottenham boss on Saturday afternoon, winning at West Ham to break Spurs' winless record on the road which had stood for nine months.

Pochettino's back room staff including his son Stefano, left with him, but his son Maurizio, who plays for the Under-18s and Under-23s, has stayed at Spurs.

The 18-year-old joined Spurs in 2015 from Southampton, a year after his father made the same move. The young midfielder was born in Barcelona while his father played for Espanyol, and has made five appearances so far for Spurs' Under-23s side.

His status at Spurs has led to him garnering over 77,000 followers on Instagram, and he had not posted anything on the site since his father's dismissal.

However, he broke his social media silence by uploading a picture of himself in action for Spurs with the caption: "Onwards and upwards".

The former Spurs and Southampton boss has been linked with a number of roles since leaving north London, including Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich and even Spurs' rivals Arsenal.
