Mauricio Pochettino has already backed Harry Kane as one of the world's best strikers as the former Tottenham boss continues to be linked with a remarkable return to N17.
football.london understands Pochettino has been spoken to about a return to Spurs - and he'd be keen to do so.
However, as it stands, Paris Saint-Germain have no interest in allowing the Argentine to leave the French capital, but Tottenham are yet to give up hope in bringing him back to north London.
Other managers continue to be linked, but Pochettino - who guided Spurs to their only Champions League final - seems to be the fans' preferred choice.
During his time in N17, Pochettino enjoyed a brilliant relationship with Kane and even described him as the world's best back in an interview in 2017.
It comes amid exit links for Kane, with reports claiming he would be keen to leave Tottenham in order to pursue major club trophies. Judging by Pochettino's comments four years ago, he will be desperate for the star striker to remain if he came back - issuing a strong four-word verdict that "I am in love".
“Not only [the best] English [striker], I think in the world," he said in 2017.
"For me Harry is one of the best in the world. It is too hard for me to find the word to describe him because in the last three seasons I am telling you how he is.
"I am in love, like the fans are in love, his team-mates are in love, not only because he scores goals but because how he is, a professional, humble."
Some Spurs supporters are hoping for Pochettino to return to the club and to once again link up with the England captain, but at the moment, neither of those are certainties.
Kane has been heavily linked with a move away from Tottenham in recent weeks, and while the England captain is frustrated at the lack of major honours during his time with the club, football.london understands he is yet to directly inform Spurs of his desire to leave.
