Mauricio Pochettino refuses to rule out PSG move for Manchester United's Paul Pogba

Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino has refused to rule out a move for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

The French World Cup winner has been linked with a transfer away from Old Trafford this summer after entering the final year of his contract at the club. Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain were heavily linked with a move, with the Ligue 1 side seemingly the furthest along in making an offer.

However, after completing the shock signing of Lionel Messi earlier this month the links to Pogba went quiet, with the club believed to not be able to afford him anymore.

After PSG's 4-2 win over Brest on Friday evening, Pochettino was asked about a potential move for Pogba and refused to rule out the possibility of the 28-year-old ending up in the French capital.

"The arrival of a midfielder like Pogba? We know that in football things can happen, situations turnaround.

"A club like PSG is always open to improving its workforce. A sector where we must strengthen as a priority for me? I won't say it publicly. Never.

"I will tell (sporting director) Leonardo first, who will tell our president. If I say so, there will be an earthquake and problems."

Should Pogba not be able to agree a new contract with the club before the January window he will be able to speak freely to foreign clubs about a free transfer for the following summer.

PSG know all about that having signed Georginio Wijnaldum, Sergio Ramos, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Messi on a free transfer during the current transfer window, as well as Achraf Hakimi from Inter Milan in a deal worth a potential £60 million.
