Mauricio Pochettino has been praised for the message of unity he sent out following Tottenham's 3-0 loss to Brighton on Saturday afternoon.
The Spurs' manager is under further pressure after another embarrassing defeat for his side at the AMEX Stadium, a result which came on the heels of a 7-2 hammering at the hands of Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday.
But Pochettino was quick to not criticise his players following another abject display and instead put the pressure on himself.
"I hope that the pressure is coming to me and let the players be free. This tough moment is a moment to be strong. We cannot underestimate this situation," Pochettino told BT Sport.
Pochettino's interview on BT Sport after the contest led to praise from former Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas and ex-Chelsea star Joe Cole, with both of the pundits commending the Argentinian.
"It was positive (from Poch) in a very strange way. He is obviously very upset with the way that things have gone but is going to find out a lot about his players," Jenas told BT Sport.
"The players have under-performed for a number of weeks now. The collective thing that you get from it is staying together. I just hope the players respond.
"There is no doubt he has been saying the right things. It's a seriously low moment. It's staring them right in the face but hopefully they can get themselves out of it.”
Cole added: "I think he's a class act there. He has tried to protect his players. I would have loved to have played for Pochettino.
"The players have let him down. The problem still lies ahead. He has done miracles with his net spend."
