Mauricio Pochettino plays down Kylian Mbappe and Neymar row rumours ahead of Man City clash

Mauricio Pochettino has sent a clear warning to Manchester City by playing down reports of a feud between PSG superstars Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.

All eyes are on the Parc des Princes as two of the favourites for this season's Champions League launch into battle in Group A tonight (8pm).

It's a mouth-watering showdown that sees Premier League champions City go toe-to-toe with, perhaps, the most feared attacking line-up on the planet.

Indeed, not only will Ruben Dias and co have to subdue Mbappe and Neymar, but those two are set to be joined in the PSG line-up by departed Barcelona great Lionel Messi. Following concerns over his fitness, the six-time Ballon d'Or winner has been passed fit by the French side and could well start.

From the outside looking in, it has been a super smooth start to the season for PSG, who have totted up maximum points from their eight Ligue 1 games, so far.

The most recent of those wins, though, came at an apparent cost.

Tensions between Mbappe and Neymar appeared to peak as the Frenchman - a World Cup winner - took aim at his teammate after becoming increasingly frustrated by a lack of direct link-up between the two players.

Mbappe was taken off shortly after PSG made it 2-0 against Montpellier and leaked footage captured by French TV station Canal + showed he was furious with the Brazilian.

Pictured smiling alongside each other during training for this showdown against City, manager Pochettino has since brushed off the much-publicised incident.

The former Tottenham coach said: "They [Mbappe and Neymar] are fantastic guys. These things happen.

"There are always things between top players. They're competitors who want to win and help the team achieve.

"I have spoken to them individually. They may have also spoken to each other and there have been photos of them enjoying themselves in training. If there's a small incident, sometimes that can create a wave - but it's just talk."
