Mauricio Pochettino has expressed his worry that the early closure of the English transfer window could have an impact on Christian Eriksen's future.
The transfer market shut at 5pm on Thursday, almost three weeks earlier than many countries around Europe.
That means that there's the possibility that clubs from around the continent can make an approach for a player in the Premier League with their parent club being able to sign a replacement.
Eriksen is a player who is reportedly on the radar of both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, and with less than a year left on his contract it may be the case that a late move for the playmaker comes Tottenham's way.
Speaking about Eriksen's future, Pochettino said: "It is not right to talk about personal situations. It is all rumours. We can not waste time talking about every single rumour.
"The players who are here, I am more than happy to have. Of course, we are at this point where European clubs have 20 days more, and I think that was a big mistake.
"We open the door to other clubs to cause a confusion within your squad.
"I think we need to go back and change to operate in the same way.
"The Premier League cannot give this advantage to the European clubs. It can create a mess in clubs in England."
