Mauricio Pochettino on Tottenham transfers, Christian Eriksen, Kieran Trippier and more – today’s press conference in full

Mauricio Pochettino has given his first press conference since Tottenham touched down in Singapore for the start of their pre-season tour.

Spurs take on Juventus in their opening warm-up match on Sunday, before facing Manchester United in Shangai next week.

In what was a wide-ranging press conference, Pochettino admitted that he would have considered leaving the club had Spurs won the Champions League last month, while also talking about Tottenham transfer activity – ins and outs.

"Of course it’s always in your head. You never know. With the way I am, I am always going to prioritise the club over myself. Maybe if it was a different result after the final you can think, ‘OK, maybe this is a moment to leave the club and give them the possibility of a real new chapter with a new coaching staff.'

"But after the final I felt this was not great to finish like this. I’m not a person that avoids facing problems or a difficult situation. I am more on the [other] side: I love a massive challenge and of course now [we must] rebuild that mentality to make it possible to repeat a similar season. That is exciting and motivates me a lot."

Spurs signed Tanguy Ndombele for a club record £65million from Lyon, while Kieran Trippier has left to join Atletico Madrid.

Christian Eriksen’s future remains uncertain, with the Dane admitting recently that he would like a ‘new challenge’.

Pochettino covered of these topics and more – and you can watch the press conference in full at the top of the page.
