Mauricio Pochettino offers brief update on his future after Spurs' heroic win against Ajax

Mauricio Pochettino has provided a brief update on his Spurs future in the wake of his side’s Champions League heroics.

The Lilywhites secured a spot in the final after fighting back from 3-0 down on aggregate against Ajax with just 45 minutes of their two-legged tie remaining, as a Lucas Moura hat-trick has led to a date with Liverpool on June 1st.

An emotional Pochettino paid tribute to his squad of ‘superheroes’ after the game but refused to clarify the position on his future when pressed after the game.

Prior to the match, Pochettino had suggested that he could leave Tottenham after guiding them to the Champions League final and was asked after the match by BeIN Sports if he would leave the club.

How the Spurs players celebrated Ajax win in the dressing room - and Arsenal fans will hate it

Instead of putting the rumours to bed, the Argentine boss added further fuel to the fire concerning the speculation on his future as he responded simply with ‘we’ll see’.

That will come as a bitter blow to Tottenham, who looked to have shaken off the interest of other clubs in their manager earlier this year when Real Madrid and Manchester United, two suitors for his services, appointed Zinedine Zidane and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer respectively.

Whether Pochettino was caught up in the drama of the Champions League comeback and misinterpreted the question remains to be seen but it could lead to many sleepless nights ahead of the Spurs fans.
