Next Everton manager odds: Mauricio Pochettino, Mikel Arteta and Unai Emery in the frame

Everton have become the latest Premier League club to cut ties with their manager, parting ways with Marco Silva on Thursday December 5.

Chelsea will be the next side to take on the Toffees in the Premier League with Goodison Park braced to see who takes charge.

The Portuguese boss has been under pressure for a number of weeks and the trigger was pulled in the aftermath of a 5-2 drubbing at the hands of arch-rivals Liverpool, which left the club in the relegation zone.

As a result, the Merseyside outfit are now on the hunt for a new manager and a number of familiar names are being linked with a move to Goodison Park, as shown by the latest odds from SkyBet.

Ljungberg on fixing Arsenal's defence

David Moyes is the leading contender to take the reigns and return to the club where he spent years previously, with the former Manchester United and Sunderland boss odds-on for a reunion.

River Plate boss Marcelo Gallardo, who has impressed in South America, is second in the list to take the reigns, ahead of Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe, former Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez and former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Other notable names include former players Duncan Ferguson and Mikel Arteta, the latter of whom is also tipped as a contender for Arsenal’s vacant managerial position following the sacking of Unai Emery.

Next Everton manager odds

David Moyes - 1/5

Marcelo Gallardo - 7/1

Eddie Howe - 12/1

Rafael Benitez - 14/1

Mauricio Pochettino - 18/1

Duncan Ferguson - 20/1

Jorge Jesus - 20/1

Marcelino - 20/1

Mark Hughes - 20/1

Mikel Arteta - 20/1

Phil Neville - 20/1

Unai Emery - 20/1

Emery has only just been relieved of his duties as the former head coach of Arsenal.

He was initially appointed as the successor to Arsene Wenger but after a dismal run of run was let go by the Gunners.

Freddie Ljungberg has been installed as interim head coach but a search is underway to find the next permanent boss at the Emirates Stadium.

Ex-Everton and Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta has been mentioned as a left-field option, having been considered after Wenger stepped down in 2017.

Mauricio Pochettino is another intriguing option after his sacking by Tottenham in November.

While the Gunners may be under-performing this season, with Everton in the relegation zone, it is unlikely that the north Londoners would miss out if a managerial candidate was forced to pick between the two clubs.
