Michel Vorm has been drafted into Tottenham's Champions League squad after re-signing for the club on Monday.
The Dutchman had initially left Spurs at the end of last season following the expiration of his contract, only to return to N17 after Hugo Lloris dislocated his elbow in the defeat at Brighton.
Although the club do have youngsters Alfie Whiteman and Brandon Austin who can cover for Paulo Gazzaniga in the Frenchman's absence, the club obviously thought it was necessary for the 35-year-old to return and add some experience.
Rules regarding Champions League squads are very strict and the next time clubs will be able to make alterations is before the knockout stage commences in February.
However, Lloris' injury has meant that Spurs have been allowed to bring Vorm into their squad for their four remaining group games.
According to the Champions League website, if a club cannot count on the services of at least two goalkeepers registered on List A due to injury or illness, they can temporarily replace him at any time during the season.
Spurs have now taken advantage of this rule as Vorm can now be found on their squad page on the website in place of Lloris.
If the club manage to advance to the next stage of the competition after such a bad start in their opening two games, Mauricio Pochettino does have space to register all three goalkeepers for the knockout phase.
Vorm is likely to be on the bench on Tuesday evening when the team host Red Star Belgrade at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
