Former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has opened up on his exit from the club and whether he would manager another Premier League side.
Pochettino was replaced by Jose Mourinho last month at Spurs, something which led to speculation aplenty that the Argentine might take over from Unai Emery at Arsenal, a move he previously denied he would do.
But Mikel Arteta instead landed the job at the Gunners but Pochettino has not ruled out returning to the Premier League in the future.
The 47-year-old does not plan on being out of work for long as he concentrates on leaving himself 'open' to opportunities.
"In football you never know what can happen in the future. you need to be only free and open to listen and anything can happen,” Pochettino told the Associated Press. "I am a coach and I would love to be in the best place that you can.
"Now is a moment to recharge the batteries. The Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world. But it’s not only the Premier League, there are a lot of leagues in the world that can be exciting or a very good challenge."
On his departure from Tottenham, Pochettino reflected on the brutal nature of his exit on the back of four consecutive top-four finishes and a Champions League final appearance.
"You need a result today, it's not important what happened the past," Pochettino added. “But for us and for the fans, of course, it is so important what happened in the past.
"But, yes, we need to accept that this is a different football, a different business, and we need to adapt today because young men, coaches that we need to adapt to a work for the company, need to accept that new era of football.
“Five-and-a-half years, that was so, so, so tough. The journey was amazing. I don’t need to talk about what happened … only that it was an honour for me to be at Tottenham."
