Mauricio Pochettino lifts lid on what working with Kylian Mbappe is really like

Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino has claimed that Kylian Mbappe is the "easiest" player he has ever had to manage.

The French forward has enjoyed another sensational season, scoring 21 goals in 27 appearances in Ligue 1 and adding a further eight in the Champions League.

But speculation continues to grow over his future, with Mbappe yet to sign a new contract with the French giants despite his current deal being set to expire next summer.

Pochettino spoke to Rio Ferdinand for BT Sport ahead of PSG's huge Champions League quarter-final second leg against Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

And when asked what it is like to work with Mbappe, the former Tottenham manager had nothing but praise for the youngster.

"It's so easy to work with him," he replied. "He's only 22 but so mature and in his mind it is just about working, playing and scoring goals.

"It's also easy to communicate because his Spanish is fantastic and his English is amazing. He's very easy to work with, very humble and a lovely guy.

"It's impossible not to love him, and on the pitch he is unbelievable with his talent. In 11 or 12 years as a coach he is maybe the easiest player I have managed."

Mbappe's teammate Neymar also recently opened up about his enjoyment playing with the star, and clearly desperately hopes he will remain at the club.

Speaking to France Football, Neymar said: "I owe a large part of my happiness at PSG to Mbappe. He made me learn about the French way of being.

"He has explained the French mentality to me. I owe a big part of my adaptation to him. From the beginning, I got Mbappe's way of being.

"He is a great person. He is the reason why we understood each other from day one."

PSG hold a 3-2 advantage over Bayern going into the second leg in the French capital, with the winners taking on the victors of Manchester City and Dortmund.
