Mauricio Pochettino highlights identical Manchester United problem that PSG are facing

Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino has side-stepped the criticism of individual performances within his team during their dismal 3-0 defeat on Sunday.

AS Monaco ripped apart the Ligue 1 leaders and compiled the misery for the United-linked manager as their disappointment continues following their stunning Champions League exit. Pochettino's problems in Paris are eerily similar to the ones faced by Ralf Rangnick at Old Trafford.

The Argentine is in the frame for the managerial position at United and would inherit the problems that the current interim boss Rangnick faces. However, the Manchester Evening News reported this week that Ajax manager Erik ten Hag has leapfrogged the ex-Spurs head coach to become the preferred option, although Pochettino remains under serious consideration.

Speaking after their latest defeat, he said (via Medio Tiempo): "We always judge the collective performance, the collective state of mind, I don't want to focus on individual performances.

"We don't look for excuses. The most important thing is to find solutions, we have to stop looking for excuses, looking for pretexts.

"You have to be responsible. Each one must take on the situation individually, thinking of the collective of the team."

Kevin Volland and a Wissam Ben Yedder's brace handed the Parisiens their fourth defeat of the league campaign. But their lead at the Ligue 1 summit remains at 13 points, despite growing discontent from the fans after their defeat to Real Madrid earlier this month.
