Mauricio Pochettino emerges as favourite for Juventus job with Max Allegri to leave

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has emerged as one of the favourites to replace Max Allegri at Juventus , according to the latest odds.

Despite still having one year left on his contract, the Italian champions have confirmed that Allegri will Juventus confirm manager Max Allegri to leave club at end of the season this summer after five years in charge.

The 51-year-old has won five consecutive Serie A titles since replacing Antonio Conte in 2014, completing the domestic double on four occasions.

He also led the Italian giants to the final of the Champions League in both 2015 and 2017, but saw his team beaten by Dutch side Ajax in the quarter-finals of this year's competition.

"Massimiliano Allegri will not sit on the bench of Juventus next season," Juventus said in a short statement released on Friday morning, with the departing boss set to speak alongside club president Andrea Agnelli at a news conference on Saturday.

Juventus will play their final home game of the season against Champions League-chasing Atalanta on Sunday before the Italian takes charge of his final match at Sampdoria on May 26.

With the club in need of a new manager, Tottenham boss Pochettino has emerged as the leading candidate to take Allegri's place in Turin.

Pochettino has enjoyed great success in North London since joining from Southampton in 2014 and has led his side to this year's Champions League final.

A second-leg hat-trick from Lucas Moura saw the Premier League side beat Ajax in the semi-finals to set-up an all-English clash against Liverpool in Madrid on June 1.

Former boss Antonio Conte, who has been tipped to take charge at Inter Milan this summer, is also considered to be one of the favourites and has been linked with a return to the Allianz Stadium.

Jose Mourinho's name has also been mentioned alongside the likes of Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone and former Paris Saint-Germain manager Laurent Blanc.
