Mauricio Pochettino delivers special message the Tottenham fans will love

Former Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that he would like to come back to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium one day and cheer the team on.

Pochettino spent five-and-a-half years in charge in north London before being sacked by Daniel Levy in November 2019 and being replaced by Jose Mourinho.

Many expected the Argentine to make a swift return to the dugout, with many touting him to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as Manchester United boss at Old Trafford.

However, the former Espanyol and Southampton chief decided to be patient when deciding on his next venture before choosing to take over at Paris Saint-Germain in January, succeeding now-Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel.

Tottenham talk: Gareth Bale return, Harry Kane and Davinson Sanchez form

Since taking over in the French capital, Pochettino has overseen 13 matches, winning ten of them, including the very impressive 4-1 away triumph in the first-leg of their last-16 tussle with Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League last month.

Despite having now taken on a new project, the Argentine has admitted that he would like to return to north London one day to support his former club, as well as admitting that he remains a part of the "Tottenham family."

Answering questions and messages on the Champions League's official Instagram page, Pochettino said: "Thank you very much for your message. I know that it is not a question but I think it is unbelievable, the journey... the five-and-a-half years that we spent together.

"It is always going to be a memory in my heart. I am a part of the Tottenham family.

"I hope, one day, to be in White Hart Lane cheering for the Spurs."

Although Pochettino's time in charge of the club did not bring an end to the club's trophy drought, the Argentine did build a successful squad, challenged for the Premier League title on occasions and, of course, took the club to the final of the Champions League in 2019, only to be beaten 2-0 by Liverpool.

Pochettino, though, will always be remembered by Spurs fans for the good times, opposed to the topsy-turvy ending to his tenure, with the memorable comeback win over Ajax in the semi-finals of the Champions League acting as the highlight of his time in charge of the club.
