There's always drama when Manchester United are involved with something and with their managerial situation currently unresolved, it looks like there's going to be more theatricals to come.
Ralf Rangnick, United's current interim manager, is taking charge of the club until the end of the season before a permanent successor is found by John Murtough and the club's hierarchy.
A lot of names have been linked with the permanent role and it remains a mystery to see who United go for, but if we are to believe some of the recent reports, another person has been thrown into the mix.
That person is Brighton manager, Graham Potter and there are some United supporters who think he'd be a great appointment.
Without a doubt, Potter has done an exceptional job on the South Coast and has rightly been getting plaudits. His side is currently ninth and 10 points off fourth in the Premier League.
It's not just the impressive position in the table that makes Potter a great manager. He's turned average individuals into great players, who've been catching the eye of many top clubs. The likes of Yves Bissouma and Tariq Lamptey have both been linked with moves to some of the best teams in England and it just emphasises how good of a job their coach has done.
It's hard to argue against Potter becoming a great manager at a top Premier League club, but currently, it feels like the United job has come at the wrong time for him.

United need someone who's more experienced than Potter - a man who's managed in the elite competitions, which leaves both names who continue to be linked with the job.
That's Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag.
While both of them are truly exceptional managers, Potter's link to United has made Murtough's decision even easier.
United have already gone for managers that have links to both Potter and Pochettino.
Like Potter, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and David Moyes were two managers that were too inexperienced to do the job properly. While Solskjaer made great strides with United, he eventually won nothing and the club are now back to square one.
With Pochettino, he's a fantastic coach and would no doubt satisfy a lot of United supporters, but he'd also have similarities to a former United appointment.
Although Pochettino isn't like Jose Mourinho in his style of management, his appointment to United would be similar to the Portuguese coach, in that United would be going for someone who's already managed and done a good job at another Premier League club. It would feel like there's no originality to his appointment.
Therefore, it would leave Erik ten Hag, who feels like the obvious choice to make, not only because he's different, but also due to the fact he's a manager on the rise.
Having won every single Champions League game so far in 2021/22 and on course to winning his third Eredivisie title in four seasons, Ten Hag has a winning mentality coupled with a tactical obsession, as well as experience of developing young players and signing the right individuals. He's the perfect target.
It remains to be seen whether United will go for the Dutchman, but he's certainly the standout profile to supporters.
