Mauricio Pochettino admits he is "suffering" from Tottenham's start to season

Mauricio Pochettino admits he is “suffering” through Tottenham’s disappointing start to the season.

Tottenham were dumped out of the Carabao Cup by League Two Colchester, already find themselves ten points off the title pace behind leaders Liverpool and blew a two goal lead as they were held to a draw at Olympiacos.

It has put Pochettino under the spotlight and raised doubts about his future as the Spurs boss did admit he has been left “frustrated” because he has not won any silverware during his five years at White Hart Lane.

Real Madrid have been circling as Pochettino has looked frustrated ever since Tottenham lost the Champions League final in June and even confessed this week that there have been “different agendas” within his squad.

Pochettino said: “Football for me is about the glory. There is nothing more important than the glory. When you win, how you feel... there is not another thing you can find like it. I am suffering.

“That is my wish. This is my sixth season here and I am in an unbelievable environment here. The training ground is amazing and we have the best stadium in the world. But football is about glory, it is about winning.

“You can be frustrated and disappointed sometimes. The challenge is to get back there (to the Champions League final) and I told you we are going to fight to try to make this possible to try to change the history of this club.

“This is going to be difficult but football is not an ordinary business. That said, there are still some principles you have to respect.

“Difficult times can happen and you have to have different tools to fight against this situation.”
