Mauricio Lara has warned Josh Warrington he's coming to 'destroy' him in the rematch fight between the pair at Headingley.
The two fighters face-off in the ring on Saturday, September 4th - just months after the first meeting of the pair in February that handed Warrington a first defeat of his professional career.
Lara, who entered that fight as a relatively unknown prodigy, saw the win put him on the map and says he was respectful to his opponent ahead of that bout.
However, he believes that respect was reciprocated and has taken issue with the words that Warrington has said in the build-up to the second bout.
As a result, he's suggested he will be a completely different fighter this time around and has issued a warning to Warrington.
“Warrington said I got lucky. Believe me; there’s no luck in boxing. I’ve never won anything with luck. I won with hard work and a lot of discipline," he told Matchroom Boxing.
“I knew I had to win decisively in the first fight [against Warrington]. This time, it will be different. I will win, but you’ll see a totally different Mauricio Lara.
“I’ll be a different person. I have more drive in this fight because Warrington has been saying a lot of things, and he’ll regret it. Believe me; it doesn’t matter what strategy he has because I’m coming to destroy him. I’m a very humble person.
“He won my respect in the first fight because he was number one in the world but that’s no longer the case. He doesn’t respect me, and he said many things about my dad.
“And he made a mistake, believe me. And he met a friendly version of me, and look what happened.
