Glasgow actor Maurice Roeve has died, aged 83.
Born in Sunderland, Roeve was brought up in our city and went on to have a hugely successful career starring in the likes of Tutti Frutti, Rab C Nesbitt and River City.
He also featured in Doctor Who, Eastenders and Star Trek and became renowned for his portrayal of 'hard-men' characters and villains throughout a career that spanned six decades.
His most recent appearance came in the BBC's 'The Nest', earlier this year.
Roeves' agent today confirmed on Twitter: "It is with great sadness that we can confirm the passing of our wonderful client Maurice Roeves.
"We will miss him hugely and all our love goes to Vanessa and family."
