Maura Higgins slammed for 'inappropriate dress' complaints by Lady Victoria Hervey

Maura Higgins has been slammed by socialite Lady Victoria Hervey for complaining about a racy dress she was supposed to wear to the Fashion Awards.

The Love Island alum, 32, said she was forced to snub the event at the 11th hour after feeling 'uncomfortable' in the frock presented to her by designer Scott Henshall

Maura said the plunging gold number and shoes were 'not something she would wear', adding the outfit 'wasn't very appropriate for the Fashion Awards."

But Lady Victoria, 46, who was also dressed by Scott for the event, isn't having any of it.

"What Maura is saying is not true at all," she claimed.

"Scott didn't ignore her. Maura had her own glam team in her room and what I heard is that she liked the dress but Scott’s PR, who was in charge of bringing her shoes, brought her ones she didn't like.

"Scott was mad because he did not like the ones the PR chose."

Victoria continued: 'It's absolutely not true to say that Scott left Maura for three hours," reports MailOnline.

Maura pulled out of Monday's British Fashion Awards at the 11th hour after claiming her custom-made frock was 'not very appropriate'.

The Ann Summers model is known for her sexy fashion sense - but admitted she was uncomfortable wearing the outfit and pulled out of the event at the last minute.

Dubbing the experience a "nightmare", she said she had "zero control" over her custom-made gown as she took to her Instagram Stories.

While she was getting ready, Maura made a peace sign and wrote: "BFA tonight... first time to have zero control on my outfit... excited to see what @scott_henshall has designed for me."

Designer Scott, who is the former creative director of Mulberry, shared the post on his own Insta Stories with a heart emoji.

However, just hours later, Maura told fans why she hadn't posted any photos of herself on the red carpet.

In full glam make-up, wearing the low-cut dress, she said: "I've had a bit of a nightmare. So obviously you can see I am fully ready. Glam team are on point as usual. Basically.... the dress, the shoes, everything wasn't something I'd wear.

Some fans have slammed Maura's comments (@maurahiggins/Instagram)

"I don't really know what to say, it's like, I just feel it's not very appropriate for the Fashion Awards.

"I obviously do like to go daring, you guys know that, but I just feel, I don't know. It's just not right. So yeah, I've decided not to go. I'm still in the hotel as you can see."

Fans felt Maura's decision not to attend the awards could easily spark a feud between her and the designer - as well as the other famous faces who Scott dressed on the night.

One person opined: "If I was him, I'd be livid. That's such a slap in the face."

The Mirror has reached out to Maura and Scott's reps for further comment.
