Maura Higgins has shared a sombre Christmas message ahead of this weekend's festivities.
The former Love Island star, 31, offered some powerful advice ahead of Christmas Day to her followers, reminding people to be kind during what can be an incredibly difficult time for some people.
The Irish beauty took to Instagram to share the post - which has been doing the rounds on the social media platform over the past couple of days - to shed some light on the realities of the festive period for some people who have lost loved ones, and others who are spending it with their nearest and dearest for the last time.
Maura, who recently split with Strictly Come Dancing star Giovanni Perince, shared: "Someone you know is preparing for their first Christmas without their husband, wife, mother, father, brother, sister, daughter, or son.
"Others are preparing for their last.
"Regardless of their specifics, remember that this season of joy is often times a season of sadness for many.
"Be kind, be generous, give love, give help; if nothing else, just don't give a hard time."
Maura has endured quite a difficult couple of months herself following the breakdown of her relationship with Giovanni, 32.
The reality TV star was said to have taken the breakup 'very hard', and was left heartbroken after the Strictly Come Dancing star decided to end things in a bid to focus on his career.
The couple enjoyed four months of romantic bliss before they called it quits, with Maura calling Giovanni 'the one' in gushing social media posts.
"Maura was totally gutted about their break-up and it was a bitter blow," a source told New magazine at the time.
"But she's a beautiful girl and she's used to getting a lot of attention. She definitely won't be short of offers."
It's claimed Giovanni dumped Love Island star Maura amid fears she risked ruining his chances of winning Strictly Come Dancing.
But last weekend, Giovanni won the BBC One show for the third time as he and celebrity partner Rose Ayling-Ellis lifted the Glitterball trophy.
During the 12 weeks the pair danced together, romance rumours were rife as fans became convinced that Giovanni was head over heels for EastEnders star Rose, 27.
However, the deaf soap star had a longterm boyfriend of seven-years all along.
Meanwhile, Maura hasn't been linked to anyone else since her split with Giovanni.
