Maura Higgins has opened up about her romantic position with Chris Taylor after the former Love Island stars were spotted spending lots of time together.
Reports over the weekend suggested 29-year-old Chris had spent a weekend at Maura’s house after lockdown procedures had been relaxed to allow singletons to spend nights together in “support bubbles”.
An eyewitness had claimed that Chris had a “skip in his step” when he emerged from 29-year-old Maura’s home last Monday morning after allegedly spending the night.
And now Maura has reacted to speculation that the two Love Island stars could be becoming more than just friends.
But any Love Island fans hoping that a romance could be blossoming between the stars should expect disappointment.
A spokesperson for Maura told Mirror Online that the pair are simply friends, stating: “Maura and Chris Taylor’s friendship is simply platonic.”
Maura’s team have poured cold water on the rumours of romance between her and Chris after they dined at Sheesh restaurant in Essex together.
They were joined by fellow Love Island stars Jordan Hames, Michael Griffiths and Danny Williams.
Maura and Chris appeared on the Summer 2019 series of Love Island.
Chris coupled with Harley Brash when he starred on the reality show last year – but the couple split soon after.
While Maura enjoyed a seven month romance with Dancing With The Stars professional Curtis before their relationship collapsed during Maura’s participation on Dancing On Ice in March this year.
Last month Maura said she would like to return to Love Island a second time to attempt to find a successful match.
While Curtis recently revealed he wants to find a relationship in a more natural way.
