Maura Higgins flew home to Ireland for her niece’s birthday this week after admitting she broke down when she missed it last year on Love Island.
The reality TV star missed her niece’s birthday last year, when finding her new found fame in the Love Island villa.
Following months of separation from her family due to Covid-19 restrictions, nothing would stop the Longford native jetting home from the UK for the special occasion this time around.
Sharing the precious moment on Instagram at the weekend, the 29-year-old said: “Hello my baby, let me look at you, happy birthday!”
Proud aunt Maura previously admitted that missing the special day last year was her worst moment while in the villa and she felt really homesick.
She said: “My worst was missing my sister’s wedding and missing my niece’s birthday, oh my God I cried that day.”
“It was also my best friend’s two-year anniversary while I was away. I cried so many times.”
The trip home comes after the TV star turned makeup mogul revealed she has started to go grey just before her 30th birthday later on this year.
The Irish beauty, 29, recently launched her collaboration with beauty brand Inglot and was showcasing the collection on her Instagram Stories this week when she made the claim.
Although Maura looked radiant as ever, she joked about her stray grey hairs and wrote over the video “Look at those greys”.
Throughout the tutorial, she leaned into towards the camera to showcase the products of her new venture and grey hair could be seen around her hairline.
Standing in her bathroom in a dressing gown, she said: “Please don’t mind the head on me, I’m currently mid-make-up so thought I’d come on to show you how I do my eyebrows.”
