Maura Higgins’ boyfriend Giovanni Pernice has gushed about how the Love Island star looks after him at home amid speculation that the pair have 'split'.
The Longford born Love Island star, 30, and the professional dancer, 31, appeared to be more loved-up than ever in recent weeks, with the odds of an engagement and them moving in growing shorter by the day.
Opening up about their romance this week, Giovanni, who is paired with EastEnders star Rose Ayling-Ellis on Strictly this season, gushed: “Maura’s been very supportive.
“She’s the one I go home to, there’s a dinner ready and I have someone to talk to.
“She loves Rose as well,” he added.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, he went on: “She [Maura] really enjoys it. She loved our performance on movie week and said she was really moved by it.”
But when asked if he plans to take the Irish beauty home to Italy to meet his family when he plans to visit later this year, he said: “We don’t know yet.
“We’ll see how our schedules are looking because we’re both very busy.”
It comes as the pair have sparked rumours of a split after they both deleted all traces of each other on social media on Monday.
Eagle-eyed fans are convinced that the loved up pair have been struck by the ‘Strictly curse’ as they spotted that they removed all images and mentions of each other on Instagram.
Taking to Twitter, supporters of the couple shared their disappointment, with one saying:
“Why has Maura deleted all her posts with Giovanni? Not the Strictly curse again.”
“It looks like Maura and Giovanni are off. She’s unfollowed him,” another echoed.
Another added: “That’s bloody heartbreaking. Maura deserves the world.”
“I imagine the Strictly curse has got them,” someone else suggested.
The Irish bombshell has been dating Giovanni since June, and it appeared that the lovebirds were set to move in with one another this month.
The social media detox comes just days after the Ann Summers model shared a snap of moving boxes in her London apartment and said: “It’s finally moving week! Reason for my absence.”
