Maura Higgins backed for I'm A Celebrity and Dancing with the Stars amid split

Maura Higgins has been backed to join this year’s I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! And Dancing with the Stars line-up amid her recent ‘split’ with her Strictly star boyfriend.

Whilst rumours are rife that the Longford born Love Island star and Strictly Come Dancing’s Giovanni Pernice have ended their whirlwind romance, it appears Maura has attracted a new burst of support from punters backing her to take part in the popular reality series’ this year.

The Ann Summers ambassador and much-loved personality is now just 5/2 to head to Wales later this year and take part in the new series of I’m a Celebrity having been backed in from 7/2 with BoyleSports this week.

The chances of the Irish beauty taking to the dancefloor and competing for the Glitterball trophy on Dancing with the Stars are also shortening at 6/4 from 5/1.

Sarah Kinsella, spokesperson for BoyleSports, said: “Punters are continuing to get behind the idea of Irish star Maura Higgins taking part in the next series of I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!

“Her odds have been trimmed into 5/2 from 7/2, but the support doesn’t end there as she is also 6/4 from 5/1 to take part in the next series of Dancing with the Stars, so fans are clearly expecting a return to reality TV in the near future.”

Ladbrokes have also been forced to slash her odds to 7/2 from 6/1 to appear on the reality TV show following the flurry of bets.

Other Irish celebs who could possibly make the cut include Greg O’Shea at 8/1 and Vogue Williams at 12/1.

Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: “Maura Higgins would be such a fun addition to the I’m A Celeb line-up next month. With rumours flying, the odds are starting to suggest that a stint in the Welsh castle is very likely.”
