Matty Longstaff all smiles at Whitley Bay curry house before dream goal

Matty Longstaff is the toast of Tyneside after a dream Premier League debut which saw him score against Manchester United.

And the 19 year old has received a cheeky tribute from his favourite Indian restaurant after his strike saw Newcastle take three points against United on Sunday.

North Shields lad Matty could not have hoped for a better start to his Premier League career with the Magpies after his 72 minute screamer sent the St James' Park faithful into overdrive.

Among the many people who are immensely proud of Longstaff, who started for United alongside brother Sean, are the staff of his local Indian who took to Facebook to pay tribute to the young goal scoring hero.

Posting pictures of Matty, Sean and other family members in their restaurant on Friday, Whitley Bay haunt Shikara wrote "Sean and Matty Longstaff did a job on Manchester United today together with the rest of the Newcastle United team.

"We should probably have them both in for a meal before every match and maybe the rest of the squad too."

And their customers agree too, with one commenting "I've just said the same on my fb page, after they were there Fri night, Steve Bruce should bring the whole team for a pre match meal!!"

Another reacted "Good plan Shikara!!!"
