Matty Kennedy eyed by St Mirren and Ross County with winger targeted for loan deal

St Mirren and Ross County are both keen on a loan deal for Aberdeen’s Matty Kennedy.

Buddies boss Jim Goodwin is a long-term admirer of the Dons midfielder.

He tried to sign him from St Johnstone but lost out to the Pittodrie side.

The 26-year-old is also wanted by Premiership rivals Ross County.

Malky Mackay is also keen to take the experienced Kennedy to the Highlands on-loan.

Aberdeen aren’t looking to push the Northern Ireland international out but know he is looking for more game time.

Former club St Johnstone have also expressed an interest but they have since signed Glenn Middleton on-loan from Rangers.

It is likely that any club would have to cover Kennedy’s wages if he was to go out on-loan.

He was a first-team regular under Derek McInnes but he hasn’t had the same exposure under current Aberdeen boss Stephen Glass.
