Matty Healy and model Gabbriette Bechtel have been spotted passionately kissing on an outing in New York City following his highly publicised fling with Taylor Swift.
The 34-year-old musician and Bechtel, who was a member of the girl group Nasty Cherry and has modelled for Rihanna’s Fenty lingerie line, kissed multiple times and couldn’t keep their hands off each other as they walked around the Big Apple.
It’s not known when the pair, who also did a spot of shopping, first started dating but just in July Healy was reportedly on holiday with his ex-girlfriend, Meredith Mickelson, in Hawaii.
Mickelson shared a photo on Instagram from their trip, which fueled speculation that they had rekindled their romance.
In May Healy was romantically linked with Swift following her breakup with longterm boyfriend, British actor, Joe Alwyn.
Their last public appearance together was on May 25 in New York City.
Healy and the pop star were said to have parted ways after stories about his controversial past, including doing what appeared to be a nazi salute during one of his stage performances, resurfaced.
He also drew criticism while making offensive remarks about female rapper Ice Spice’s face and body on The Adam Freidland Show, a New York-based podcast.
The rocker has apologised since, saying that a joke he made on the show had become “misconstrued”.
“I love you, Ice Spice. I’m so sorry,” he told the audience at a concert in New Zealand.
Swift went on to collaborate on a remix of her song Karma with the rapper. Her army of fans also took to social media to voice their disapproval of The 1975 frontman.
Healy had been publicly supportive of Swift, 33, attending her The Eras Tour concerts, performing at some of the gigs and being pictured partying with her and her A List pals the likes of Gigi Hadid.
Meanwhile, his ex Mickelson was reportedly unaware of Healy’s growing closeness with Swift as sources told Daily Mail that they were still dating at the time and was said to have been “taken aback” by the reports.
Although Swift and Healy had only struck up a romance this year, the artists had known each other since 2014 when Taylor went to a concert for his band, The 1975.
Healy, whose band is returning to Europe on tour next year, with several dates in the UK, has previously dated singers Halsey and FKA Twigs, separating from the latter in 2022.
