Matty Cash's fitness leaves Nottingham Forest and boss Sabri Lamouchi sweating

Nottingham Forest could still be sweating on the fitness of Matty Cash for their trip to Barnsley at the weekend.

The right-back missed the 2-2 draw with Swansea City due to a groin strain, having also sat out last Saturday’s 1-1 stalemate at Preston North End.

Sabri Lamouchi’s side missed the chance to make sure of a play-off spot at the City Ground, as they twice came from behind against their visitors with a stunning brace from Sammy Ameobi.

They sit in fifth spot, five points clear of seventh-placed Millwall going into the last two games.

And Lamouchi admitted Cash may still be a doubt to face the Tykes on Sunday.

“Maybe. Maybe yes, maybe not. I don’t know,” said the Frenchman.

“It was so risky to take the decision now, so we will check him tomorrow for Barnsley.”

There was a return for winger Joe Lolley against the Swans, however. He, too, had been sidelined for the trip to Deepdale, suffering from shin splints.

But he came off the bench in the second half of the midweek clash.

“It was nice to see him. But we need Lolley in a better condition,” Lamouchi said.

“He tried, but not with success.

“We need him on top if we want him to make the difference.”
