Mattia De Sciglio 'rejects' Celtic move after reported loan approach to Juventus for the Italian international

Juventus defender Mattia De Sciglio has reportedly rejected a move to Celtic.

Neil Lennon has been searching for a left back after Boli Bolingoli was shipped out on loan to Turkey after his breach of COVID protocols.

That’s left Greg Taylor as the only natural senior left back at the club and Lennon wants more depth for the left hand side of defence.

Sky Italia’s transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio broke the story that the Scottish champions had made an approach to the Bianconeri about taking the 27-year-old on loan.

But he now reports that the 39-times capped Italian international has knocked back the move and isn’t interested in a switch to Celtic Park.

The defender was been with the Old Lady of Italian football for the last four years, but has found his game time limited due to injury, and Andrea Pirlo is keen to get him off the books.

With the transfer window closing on Monday however, time is running out for De Sciglio to get a move sorted out and his reluctance towards the Hoops may soften if we get to Monday and he remains a Juventus player.
