Matthijs De Ligt transfer complicated by huge demands of agent Mino Raiola

Defender Matthijs De Ligt is wanted by a host of top clubs - but he is yet to decide his next destination.

The Ajax skipper is expected to depart Amsterdam with Barcelona the favourites to acquire his signature and Manchester United , Juventus , Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich amongst those also in the race.

According to Mundo Deportivo , the role of agent Mino Raiola is proving a complication when it comes to his future destination.

Raiola, who includes Paul Pogba amongst his clients, is reportedly demanding a fee of between €8m and €10m for his services as an intermediary in the deal.

That is more than Barcelona are willing to pay, and as a result he is encouraging an auction to acquire the services of his client.

Marcus Rashford's agent responds to Barcelona transfer speculation

De Ligt was said to be keen to follow Frenkie De Jong to Barcelona, but he is being influenced far more by Raiola than his team-mate was with his agent.

De Jong is understood to have rejected high offers in order to follow his heart to Barcelona, which he felt was the best fit.

Barcelona are trying to convince De Ligt the same is true for him - but Raiola wants to listen to how much the likes of United, PSG, Juventus and Bayern will offer.

What Cristiano Ronaldo told Juventus teammates after Max Allegri exit was announced

Reports have recently suggested De Ligt could still be open to a move to Old Trafford despite their failure to qualify for the Champions League next season.

He is said to be interested by the prospect of becoming the poster boy for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's summer rebuild and leading them back to former glories.

De Ligt was pictured in Barcelona alongside De Jong and other Ajax team-mates as they travelled to Spain to celebrate their Eredevisie title win over the weekend.
