Matthew Stafford moves into top 10 in career 4th quarter comeback wins

Matthew Stafford joined some elite company in Sunday’s win over the Los Angeles Chargers. By leading his team from behind in the fourth quarter, the Lions quarterback jumped into the top 10 QBs in NFL history in 4th quarter comeback wins.

Stafford has 28 such wins, tying him with Brett Favre. He broke a tie with Eli Manning, who remains stuck at 27. Interestingly, Falcons QB Matt Ryan also notched his 28th comeback win later on Sunday to remain tied with Stafford. The two are good friends off the field.

Peyton Manning is the all-time leader at 46. Most of the names above Stafford are NFL quarterbacking royalty who played many more seasons than Stafford has thus far.

The top of the list, not yet updated for the Week 2 games, from Pro Football Reference:

Stafford has the most 4th quarter comeback wins in the NFL since he joined the league in 2009. He’s also led game-winning drives which broke 4th quarter ties in six other games.
