Matthew Perry has made fun of claims he was looking dishevelled during a rare outing in New York City.
The Friends star, 49, was spotted wandering around in baggy sportswear, sporting a scruffy beard and long fingernails.
Matthew, who spent three months in hospital last year after suffering a ruptured bowel and has remained out of the spotlight, took to Twitter to respond to suggestions that he looked unkempt, after his fans jumped to his defence.
He joked about an impending grooming session to his followers: "I’m getting a manicure this morning. That’s okay right? I mean it says man right in the word."
Reports claimed that Matthew, who was wearing a T-shirt, jogging bottoms, a loose shirt and trainers was "dishevelled and bloated" leading to concern among fans.
Matthew who hasn't been seen in public very often since he underwent surgery for gastrointestinal perforation, then went on to address the concern.
His followers responded to the self-deprecating comment with several Chandler Bing memes, the character that made him famous in the US sitcom.
"Manicure with Rachel ? Better not find Janice's nails," offered one, referring to the episode Chandler visits a salon.
"Could you BE anymore Chandler Bing," added another.
It comes after Jennifer Aniston backtracked about a Friends reunion.
She'd seemed keen for the group to return to Central Perk coffee house, saying that everyone was up for it on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
But then later on during an appearance on Entertainment Tonight she clarified that there are "no plans" for a reunion.
Teasing that "anything could happen’", adding: "I have no idea though. There’s no plans in the immediate future."
