Matthew Mindler's death ruled as suicide as Hollywood child star dies at just 19

Child actor Matthew Mindler died by suicide, it has been ruled.

Matthew’s tragic death, at the age of just 19, was confirmed last week.

And now TMZ has reported that the talented actor sadly died by suicide, according to information the news outlet obtained from the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office.

The young adult had an impressive career on screen and co-starred with high-profile Hollywood actors Paul Rudd and Steve Coogan in 2011’s Our Idiot Brother.

He also starred in TV show As the World Turns and the film Frequency and Chad: An American Boy.

But the teenager went missing last Tuesday and his heartbreaking death was later confirmed by the college he attended.

A statement from Millersville University president Daniel A Wubah announced that Matthew had died.

"It is with a grieving heart that I let you know of the death of 19-year-old Matthew Mindler from Hellertown, Pennsylvania, a first-year student at Millersville University,” said the statement.

"A search had been underway for Matthew since Thursday, after he was reported missing.

“Matthew was found deceased this morning, Saturday, August 28, in Manor Township near campus."

He added: “This is a time of grief for the family, our campus and the community. I ask that the campus community come together to support each other, and our students, during this difficult time.”

According to the Millersville University police, freshman Mindler skipped classes last week and failed to return to his dormitory room.

And his tragic death was reported within 48 hours of his strange disappearance.

Matthew had not acted since 2016 when he appeared in the TV movie Chad.

Many film fans were quick to send their condolences after the heart-wrenching news broke.

“That’s sad!” penned on Twitter user. “He was just a baby with a future waiting for him. But rest on baby! God bless!”

Another wrote: “RIP to him. No Matter what happened, dying at 19 is tragic.”

A third commented: “Deeply saddened to hear that child actor Matthew Mindler dead at 19.

“It is always heart wrenching to hear about our young souls dying.

“May God rest his soul and bless his family, friends and fans during this challenging time.”
