Matteo Guendouzi names Arsenal's best player - and it's not Aubameyang, Pepe or Martinelli

Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi certainly doesn't lack any confidence.

The 20-year-old has only been at the club since the summer of 2018 but clearly rates himself very highly as revealed during a one-to-one interview with record signing Nicolas Pepe.

Ahead of the Gunners' trip to Dubai for a warm-weather training camp, the pair sat down for a game of 'Rapid Fire' which was uploaded to the club's official YouTube account.

Each had 10 questions for each other and Pepe asked Guendouzi for his opinion on who is the best player in the Arsenal squad.

Whilst some may have expected the Frenchman to pick Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - the team's main source for goals - Gabriel Martinelli who is enjoying a fine debut season or even Pepe, he gave a surprising answer.

After taking a few seconds to reply, with a huge smile on his face Guendouzi responded by saying himself.

Pepe's reaction was equally as hilarious as he just said "Okay" and the game continued.

But the winger also had a response to a question which drew the ire of Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester United supporters.

Later in the video Guendouzi asks: "Who's the toughest defender you've played against?"

To which Pepe replies: "Honestly, nobody."

As for Guendouzi he was a regular in the team during his first season at the club and was one of the standout players during the first-half of the season, notably impressing in the 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur.

However, his form did dip during the autumn and was taken out of the firing line following the sacking of Unai Emery and the appointment of Mikel Arteta.

With that said, Guendouzi enjoyed his best performance in an Arsenal shirt for some time against Bournemouth in the fourth round of the FA Cup last month and has now started the last two games prior the winter break.
