Matteo Guendouzi breaks three-month silence after Mikel Arteta hints at transfer u-turn

Matteo Guendouzi has broken his three-month silence on social media by posting today amid links with an exit from Arsenal.

The 21-year-old midfielder is out of favour at Arsenal under Mikel Arteta.

This began to happen at the back end of the 2019/20 season following the restart to football in June.

Arsenal's next move after Gabriel

Arteta lost faith in the playmaker last term and he doesn't seem to be getting a look-in ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.

Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with Guendouzi and amid the speculation, the young gun has finally taken to social media after three months.

Guendouzi posted the picture of him below in training with France which is his first social media post since June - although he did upload an image to his Instagram stories after his teammates beat Chelsea in the FA Cup final last month.

The playmaker may be rated highly by his country but a move to PSG does appear to be off the table for now after a recent decision.

The French champions and Champions League runners-up had been linked with Guendouzi but have now decided not to take their initial interest any further.

Guendouzi's fall from grace does seem to stem from his decision to grab Brighton's Neal Maupay by the throat in Arsenal's 2-1 defeat on the south coast in June.

With that said, Arteta may have hinted at a transfer u-turn.

Whilst not directly addressing Guendouzi last week, Arteta did say that every member of his squad will be given a fresh start ahead of the new season.

"I have been really clear that everybody starts from zero all the time in football," the Spaniard told reporters. "What you did two weeks ago or two years ago doesn't really matter.

"It's what you are able to contribute to the team now.

"Everybody is going to have the same opportunities.

"They'll have to show with their performances and their attitude that they are better than their teammates or somehow contributing to what we want to achieve this season."
