Matteo Guendouzi among four Premier League players on final Golden Boy shortlist

The final 20 players on the 2019 Golden Boy shortlist have been announced with three England stars making the cut.

The prestigious award is given out by Italian newspaper Tuttosport for the best player under 21 to be playing in the top tier of European football.

Juventus and Holland defender Matthjs de Ligt won the award in 2018, following in the footsteps of Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.

An initial shortlist was announced earlier this year and has now been whittled down to a final 20 names.

Among the contenders are England youngsters Jadon Sancho, Mason Mount and Phil Foden.

Sancho is continuing to shine with Borussia Dortmund while Mount has had a fine start to the season with Chelsea , and has been rewarded with a place in the England squad.

Manchester City youngster Foden is continuing to be made to wait for regular first-team action by Pep Guardiola.

Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi has also made the 20-man list, just a year after joining the club from Lorient.
