Matt Wallace hoping to learn from three-time Masters champion Nick Faldo

Matt Wallace believes a practice round with three-time Masters champion Nick Faldo at Augusta at the weekend can inspire him to his best Major result.

The world No36, making his Masters debut, has four Major appearances to his name but has avoided the cut just once, when he finished 19th at last year’s US PGA.

But Wallace is confident the Faldo effect can act as a springboard to greater success.

The 28-year-old said: “This and the Open are the two tournaments I want to win the most and there’s no better way to prepare than to have Nick Faldo alongside you.

“It was more about asking what he did when in the hunt and ahead, and how you have to attack. You’ve got to be quite aggressive here – that’s the biggest thing I took from the day.”
