Matt Tootle struggling to comprehend Notts County's downfall

Matt Tootle says it has been impossible to pinpoint why Notts County have suffered such a catastrophic season, but admitted a lack of cohesion has been a problem.

Instead, they are now fighting to avoid non-league football in  a season which has seen Kevin Nolan and Harry Kewell sacked as managers, while the club has also been put up for sale.

But as one of the longest-serving players at the club, fans' favourite Tootle says it is very difficult to identify the main cause of their downfall.

“It’s almost impossible to put your finger on,” he said.

“We’ve not had any cohesion from the word go and a lot of changes were made.

Neal Ardley hopes Notts County fans continue superb backing even if they don't 'like' him or the players

“Even before the new lads came in, we’ve got some great talent in there and it’s just snowballed into a lack of confidence and belief.

“I can’t pinpoint what has exactly gone wrong and if I could, I would be the manager wouldn’t I?”
