One of the more interesting parts of closed-door football has been being able to hear the shouts of players and coaches during a game.
Normally drowned out by natural crowd noise, it has been intriguing to eavesdrop on a conversation usually hidden away from the punters.
Scotland and Newcastle winger Matt Ritchie, however, suffered from a brief lack of awareness when he launched a foul-mouthed rant at a linesman in Monday night's Premier League clash against Brighton.
After referee Simon Hooper blew for a free-kick following Ritchie's trip on a Brighton player, the 16-times capped star turned around and told the officials exactly what he thought of the decision.
Unfortunately for Ritchie, a pitchside microphone picked up every syllable of the outburst.
He blurted out: "How have you given that, ya wee d***?"
The match at the Amex Stadium ended in a goalless draw as Steve Bruce's Magpies now look ahead to hosting newly-crowned champions Liverpool in the final day of the season on Sunday.
Both Brighton and Newcastle will have had a cautious eye on the relegation zone when English football returned last month but they both now sit comfortably mid-table.
