Matt Ritchie hints that new manager and new signings will soon follow at Newcastle United

Matt Ritchie has urged for "togetherness" ahead of the new season after a summer of uncertainty at Newcastle United.

Players and staff are now speaking publicly again at the club while managing director Lee Charnley tries to tie down a deal for Steve Bruce back in the UK.

Ritchie, speaking at a Press conference in Nanjing, said: "The key thing I’ve said since I’ve been at this club is we’ve got to create a togetherness, and everybody pulling in the same direction.

"Togetherness is key for me." Ritchie knows that changes are around the corner at Newcastle - and is expecting a string of new signings soon.

When asked about pre-season so far, Ritchie said: "Ben and Neil (Redfearn)‘s sessions have been of high quality and good intensity so we’re not missing anything in that respect.

"The new manager will want to add players but we’re preparing so that when the new manager does come in, we can hit the ground running."
