Matt Rhule says Teddy Bridgewater built Panthers playbook in Madden

Teddy Bridgewater had to get up to speed with his teammates this offseason in untraditional ways. Back in March, Bridgewater said he’s been using Madden to get to know the Panthers roster. Apparently, it goes deeper than that.

Speaking with the media today after the first padded practice of the year, coach Matt Rhule said that Bridgewater went as far as building the team’s playbook into the game and practicing with it. He’s been using it to coach up backups P.J. Walker and Will Grier.

Nice.

Bridgewater has a tough act to follow, as the guy who had the job before him is also the only league MVP in franchise history. So far, he’s been doing everything the right way and winning his teammates over.
