Matt Prater named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for 2nd time this season

The Arizona Cardinals defeated the Dallas Cowboys 25-22 on Sunday and got four field goals from kicker Matt Prater. For his performance, he has earned NFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors for the second time this season.

Prater made all four of his field-goal attempts (24, 53, 26 and 38) and his one PAT, tying his season high with 13 points in the Cardinals’ three-point win.

He is the first player for the Cardinals to win multiple player fo the week honors for special teams since kicker Chandler Catanzaro in 2014.

It is Prater’s 14th career player of the week honors. Only Adam Vinatieri won more special teams player of the week honors in his career. He won it 19 times.

Prater has made seven field goals this season from at least 50 yards. It is a franchise record and ties his career high. He has reached that number four times in his career.

It is the seventh time this season a Cardinals player has earned player of the week honors.
