Matt Peet's high praise for new Wigan Warriors signings

Wigan Warriors boss Matt Peet has praised the impact of new additions Patrick Mago and Abbas Miski following their adaptation to life at the club.

The pair are among a cluster of new arrivals at the DW Stadium who Peet says have all embedded into the system as hoped.

Mago is a new arrival from South Sydney Rabbitohs who has been brought in to spruce up the club's pack, while Lebanon international Miski will compete for a place on the wing following his move from Championship club London Broncos.

The pair have now spent numerous weeks with the club and Peet has been satisfied with their early contributions.

On Mago, Peet said: "He's been brilliant, just really natural in the way he has fit in. He mixes well and has bought into what the club is about, which is always important.

"He's just settled in quick, when we were looking at him we spoke to Sam and Tom Burgess, Wayne Bennett too, and we knew we were getting a player who would gel well."

Peet was able to go to one of his current stars to get the inside track on Miski. Bevan French is a former, and now current, associate of the winger after they played together in the Parramatta Eels under 20 system.

"On Abbas, the first person we asked was Bevan French and he said he was a Grade A human. We've seen evidence of what that Manly edge is capable of and obviously, that meant it was always going to be challenging for him to break through. He wanted to test himself in the UK and Super League and though that didn't happen initially, the next best option was London and he caught our eye.

"Again, he's bought into everything available to him here, nutrition, conditioning, recovery. He's an outstanding athlete, a bit of a freak in the gym, and if we can just enhance some parts of his game he's going to be a fantastic asset for us to have at our disposal."
