It’s not uncommon for NFL players to enter training camp still nursing injuries or health issues. That’s what the non-football injury list is for, and the Lions placed both Darius Slay and Damon Harrison on the NFI list to start camp.
If it applied to coaches, Matt Patricia would be listed too. Coach Patricia rolled into his Thursday press conference with his left leg on a rolling cart.
Patricia explained he had a procedure done recently to “clear up” some issues he was having with his calf and heel. He is in a cast and is using the cart to keep pressure off the leg to help the healing process.
He also has a golf cart to help him get around the practice fields outside in Allen Park.
