Matt Nagy’s decision to stick with Andy Dalton as starter has Bears fans feeling frustrated

While Bears rookie quarterback Justin Fields will finally get his first NFL start, it’ll come in Saturday’s preseason finale against the Titans, where he’s expected to play the first half with the starting offensive line.

Bears head coach Matt Nagy said Andy Dalton won’t play Saturday because he’s the starting quarterback heading into Week 1. And while this isn’t brand new information, there’s a level of frustration that comes with this.

As you can imagine, Nagy’s insistence to put his horse behind Dalton as the starter despite Fields showing he gives the Bears the best chance to win, has been quite frustrating for fans. Even though this has been the same tune Nagy’s been singing since Chicago drafted Fields. Still, there was some hope that Nagy would ultimately choose what’s best for the team rather than fulfilling a promise made back in free agency.
