Matt Nagy on Bears offense in Year 2: ‘Now we can start playing ball’

Matt Nagy’s offense lived up to the hype in his first year as the Chicago Bears head coach.

That was just the beginning.

“Now we can start playing ball,” Nagy said at the NFL combine. “The hunger that was in our players’ guts, what was in their eyes when we talked individually, you can’t make that up. They’re ready to get back at it.”

Last season was a learning process for Mitchell Trubisky in just his second season, and he still helped them finish in the top 10 in points scored.

The entire offensive starting lineup from last season is under contract for 2019, and the growth of the offense in Nagy’s second season will almost solely fall on the shoulders of the young quarterback.

Trubisky made the Pro Bowl as an alternate in 2018, so expectations will be sky high in Year 2 for both he and the Bears as a whole.
