Matt Nagy describes what Bears are looking for in running backs

Matt Nagy has a type, when it comes to running backs in his offense.

He described what he looks for in the position during his press conference and the NFL combine, and it didn’t sound much like Jordan Howard.

“When you’re dealing with running backs for us in this offense, you want to be able to have a guy that has really good vision that can make guys miss,” Matt Nagy said. “At the same time, there’s that balance of being a hybrid, being able to make things happen in the pass game too, but yet to where you’re not one-dimensional. And that’s not easy.”

Nagy’s description is much more like the Kareem Hunt type he had in Kansas City.

The Bears are meeting with running back prospects at the NFL combine, and they could find the long-term replacement for Howard in the draft.

The former fifth-round pick is entering the last year of his rookie contract, and the writing has been on the wall for the last 13 months.
